American Airlines is over 90 years strong, serving more destinations and passengers than any other airline, with the world’s largest fleet. The forward-thinking company was an early-adopter of mobile technology. However, because of the larger screen size, their iPad app warranted a customized experience that delivered consistency across its mobile platforms.

Side note: American Airlines has always insisted on utilizing Apple’s latest features and devices. They’ve even been featured on stage at WWDC (Apple Worldwide Developers Conference), for being one of the first to develop a robust app for the Apple Watch.

American Airlines engaged their travel partners with a customized experience on their new leading-edge iPad app platform.

The Solution

Working closely with American Airlines, Five Pack Creative’s best-in-class team of mobile designers brought beauty and brains together, delivering a customized iPad app experience without compromising brand or user consistency.

The new app has a layout and navigation designed specifically for the iPad user. Since then, American Airlines and Five Pack Creative have constructed a flexible interface so both devices (iPhone and iPad) have the same experience, but the layout fits beautifully with each device. In addition, American Airlines and Five Pack Creative have crafted the Android experience. Five Pack Creative continues to help manage American’s iOS apps and develop new ideas to better serve their travel partners.
